Extract Enchantment (Item Creation)
You can recover energy and material from a magic item that you can use to craft a new one.
- Prerequisite:
- Any other item creation feat.
- Benefit:
- During the process of crafting a magic item, you can deconstruct an existing magic item to reduce the Cost of the new one. This destroys the existing item, but you reduce the Cost of the new item by one quarter of the Price of the old one. (If the old item is similar in function or powers to the new one you are creating, then you reduce the Cost of the new item by one-half the Price of the old item. It is up to the GM whether or not an item is similar enough to recover the extra value.) This does not affect the amount of time required to craft the new item.
