Housekeeping

After all but forgetting about this site for months, I've come back and found a ridiculous number of spam accounts (and a few actual spam comments). So I have cleared out the comments and accounts. If you created a real-person account and I deleted that by mistake, I apologize, and please feel free to create a new one. I will be clearing out accounts periodically if they look like spam accounts. If you create an account and want to keep it, please post a coherent comment. I will approve comments and accounts from what look like real users. 8^)

Worldbuilding / Personal Canon

Please assume I'm giving lots of really great and compelling reasons for having neglected this site for so long. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be much more fulfilling and interesting than anything I could say. 8^)

Anyway, I had a really great idea this morning, while in the shower, about how I want to handle certain things about Transformers in "My World". I.E., my Personal Canon. Here's the gist of it:

Behold! The Iso-Devastator!

Behold! The Iso-Devastator!

The Combiner Wars Titan Devastator is ALMOST but not quite left-to-right interchangeable. Scrapper's feet can't quite lock into place, as the parts of Long Haul's leg that Mixrmaster connects to don't have openings in the right spots on the side, and Scavenger kind-of hangs limply; Scavenger's leg pegs onto Long Haul's arm but the post on Hook is too big on that side to fit into his slot. But it can be done!

A Real Update (finally!)

*insert sorry I forgot about the site and I'll try to update more often speech here*

So, it looks like I was right about some of my predictions in my last post, and wrong about others. The Protectobots are in Combiner Wars. Blades is made out of Alpha Bravo, Streetwise from Dead End, and First Aid from Offroad. Groove is a Legends Class figure, and they added Rook as a new guy (and only new Deluxe mold). Of course, there's also news about Takara's Deluxe Class Groove, which is a little closer to what I was imagining.

Combiner Wars wild rampant guessing

So, to talk about new stuff a bit... I'm really looking forward to the Combiner Wars subline that Hasbro announced a little while ago for the Transformers Generations toyline. It will help me with my Super Secret Project* of getting modern remakes of classic toys. I have great expectations for the line. What they've already shown looks great, and I have my ideas about what else is going to show up, and what I think they *SHOULD* do.

History Lesson

Hi again. I figure a little background is in order, if just for a little context. I'll probably do other posts that go into more detail about stuff like this, in and around the posts about more recent subjects, so I'm not going to go into a lot of detail right now. But, I thought people might like to know a bit about my background with toys.

So, I am a 40-something-year-old toy collector. (Anybody who has a problem with that is REALLY on the wrong blog. 8^) I am married and have kids of my own. (And, no, I did not just have kids to have an excuse to get more toys. 8^)

First Post!

Hi, and welcome to my Toy blog. Not sure what I want to call it yet. I'm going to be focusing primarily on Transformers, but will likely touch on other toylines I'm interested in. I plan to talk about my current collecting, as well as stuff from a long time ago, and the "world" that I kind-of use these to represent.
