Larger, stronger and tougher than a regular werebadger, the dire werebadger (sometimes called a "Badger Lord") occupies a near legendary place in gnomish society. They are often the leaders (or alpha male/female) of a werebadger clan.
The werebadger presented here is a 4th-level gnome fighter and natural lycanthrope, using the following base ability scores: Str 16, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 8, Cha 10.
Combat
A dire werebadger prefers to fight in hybrid form using its claws, resorting to weapons only when it needs to fight at range, or against an opponent that it cannot affect with its claws. Dire werebadgers fight just as dire badgers do in animal form. In humanoid form, they favor the longsword and light crossbow. The dire werebadger's longsword is a Small weapon, so it can treat it as a light weapon when in hybrid form.
- Alternate Form (Su):
- A dire werebadger can assume the form of a dire badger or a dire badger-humanoid hybrid.
- Badger Empathy (Ex):
- Communicate with badgers and dire badgers, and +4 racial bonus on Charisma-based checks against badgers and dire badgers.
- Curse of Lycanthropy (Su):
- Any humanoid or giant hit by a dire werebadger
