I've got a tricky balance to strike, in writing the conflict between Noldar and Tarin. I don't want Noldar to always act perfectly maturely in his interactions with Tarin (he IS a 16-year-old guy, after all), don't want him to be an out-and-out jerk, either. There will be one exchange in which Noldar is (unintentionally) pretty jerky, and the handling of that will be a good character moment for him, but other than that...
In summary: Noldar usually only delivers barbs as ripostes, when Tarin starts something, and he generally isn't any nastier to Tarin than Tarin is to him, just wittier.
So, keeping that in mind, I'm working on a bit where I'm considering having Tarin trip and fall, while he's watching Noldar and Kasarah, rather than where he's going. I'm wondering if Noldar should comment or not. If he does, it needs to be something fairly mild. Something Tarin might resent, but that a bystander would not look upon as sounding particularly insulting... Any ideas?

Quite honestly, I could see Tarin getting particularly offended if Noldar tried to help him up. Though that doesn't really fit into the whole "Noldar being less mature" mold.
