U-3P0

"Goodness gracious, me!"

Backstory:

This is actually one of my older customs -- from back before I knew about "customizing" as a hobby.

When I was young -- back when the Star Wars movies were first coming out -- I started taking Magic Markers to some of my toys, to make "new" characters/vehicles/whatever out of them. Eventually, I graduated into paint markers, by which point I was mostly into Transformers.

This removable-limbs C-3P0 was one of the victims of Magic Marker, and sat like that in my closet for years. Then when I went to college, I was in Chem Lab one day. Seeing all of the great solvents around, I figured there had to be one that could take the magic marker ink off this guy. So I brought him in one night and dunked him in something. The ink came off... along with most of the chrome finish! (It fused the neck joint, too.)

Well, rather than call it a complete failure, I decided to repaint the figure. I decided to paint it silver rather than gold -- as I had acquired another copy of the figure recently -- based on one of the other 3P0 units seen in the movies.
