Blog Improvements and Miscellany

I just spent about half an hour to 45 minutes going through my blog, and adding "Previous" and "Next" links to the top of every entry. As cool as I think Drupal is, I think the apparent lack of a more automated way to do this is a bit of a hole in the blog module. If there is a way, and I just don't know it, somebody please let me know.

Part of the reason for this sudden fit of organization (for lack of a better term) is that I've been feeling like I want to do more with this blog, but haven't felt like more "argh! I'm sliding off of the schedule!" posts were what was needed, even though that has been most of my life, lately. I need to get myself back in gear... if my daughter will let me (her sleep schedule, or lack thereof, is usually my most limiting factor). I need to get creative and find a way, however, because it has been weeks since I have either written or drawn, and I miss both again, already.

My birthday came and went fairly quietly, though I did get a nice home-cooked steak dinner, a sock book, and some money, with which I'm going to take a spindle spinning class. I've always thought it would be fascinating to learn to spin, if only for the historical perspective, so I thought a spindle would be a good, inexpensive way to start. I must admit that I'd LOVE to learn how to use a spinning wheel, but I'm a little afraid to get into that, since wheels are so expensive, and I have NO idea where I would put one, in our already kind of over-full little house. Ah well, maybe someday...

I have been getting a moderate amount of knitting done, which is good, because I'm gearing up to open an Etsy shop, as soon as I get a few items done that I can list. I'm hoping it will bring in a little bit of money, which will likely fund fiber purchases. In the meantime, I'm trying to knit up my stash... which should take me a while. There is a forum thread on Ravelry about "Would your stash last you through a recession?", and I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes" (looks like I'm in the process of finding out), though I may psychologically need an occasional project with new yarn, to break things up a bit. I really should inventory the rest of my stash, and start posting monthly updates as to how much I have left...
