...and, it is another late night blogging session, this time from my new iPod Touch. I actually got it a while ago, but it was after my last post. Typing is a bit weird on this thing, but I can reasonably thumb type, with a baby on my lap. I really can't do regular typing without running a substantial risk of disturbing my secondborn, as she nurses to sleep. My little darling is often quite the little bottomless pit, and today was definitely one of those days. While I certainly don't begrudge her the milk, it is a little impossible to do much else, while she's dining. I'll take it, though. I haven't really blogged about this before, except in the vaguest terms, but Lily was born with a heart condition. She's been doing very well, and we're told that the odds are that it will straighten itself out, as she grows. The fact that she eats a lot is a good sign - if her little heart wasn't keeping up, she wouldn't eat/grow very well. As it is though, she's 3.5 months old, and is busting out of the 6 month size of some brands of baby clothes, and doesn't have a lot of extra room in the others. 9 month sized clothes have some extra room, but are not so baggy that they're unwearable.
I'm in the middle of a spring class (Life Span Developmental Psych), which is short and rapid - we cover something like 6 chapters per week - gets a little crazy, but so far, I'm doing pretty well.
We took a bit of a road trip, over Memorial Day weekend, to visit some out-of-state friends. A good time was had by all, despite the toddler meltdowns, and a few other quirks. Kate accidentally left her stuffed panda at the hotel (a fact we discovered after we got back home), but we called, and the hotel very obligingly sent someone up to look for it, immediately, and they mailed it back to us.
It is pretty late, so I'll just wrap this up with a quick knitting update:
1) The lace scarf is finished, and the blocking went beautifully. I haven't done a lot of blocking, but I apparently have it down, well enough.
2) Still haven't touched The Cabled Monstrosity
3) The plain pattern (but funky colored) socks were finished last month and given to a friend. I'm told she and her son promptly fought over the possession of them. Unfortunately for him, they had been custom-made to fit his mom.
4) Haven't touched the scrapghan in a while, because I've had more pressing projects.
5) I've got a pair of bamboo-blend socks on DPNs for my dad, for Fathers' Day.
6) Got sort-of-double-knit chair pads for KB on some straights. These will be felted, when finished.
This is what I have in progress - lots more planned!
